About Vauxhall Certificate of Conformity
What is a Vauxhall Certificate of Conformity (Vauxhall COC)?
A Vauxhall Certificate of Conformity, or Vauxhall COC, is an official document issued by the manufacturer certifying that your Vauxhall vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and top speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Vauxhall European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate vehicle registration.
Why do you need a Vauxhall COC?
This document is required when registering a new vehicle for the first time, or when importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof that the vehicle has been approved. Every Vauxhall COC is issued by the Vauxhall approval department.
New Vauxhall vehicles usually come with a certificate of conformity free of charge. For a used Vauxhall or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a replacement Vauxhall COC.
A Vauxhall Certificate of Conformity is required to:
- Import a Vauxhall into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Export a Vauxhall to another EU member state
- Register a Vauxhall in another European country
- Correct your Vauxhall registration certificate
