About Ssangyong Certificate of Conformity
What is a Ssangyong Certificate of Conformity (Ssangyong COC)?
The Ssangyong Certificate of Conformity, or Ssangyong COC, is an official manufacturer's certificate that certifies and proves that your Ssangyong vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and maximum speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Ssangyong European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate vehicle registration.
Why do you need a Ssangyong COC?
This document is mandatory for the first-time registration of a new vehicle, or for importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof of vehicle approval. Each Ssangyong COC is issued by the Ssangyong approval department.
New Ssangyong vehicles normally come with a certificate of conformity free of charge. For a used Ssangyong car, or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a replacement Ssangyong COC.
The Ssangyong Certificate of Conformity is mandatory for:
- Importing a Ssangyong into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Exporting a Ssangyong to another EU member state
- Registering a Ssangyong in another European country
- Correcting your Ssangyong registration certificate
