About Scania Certificate of Conformity
What is a Scania Certificate of Conformity (Scania COC)?
The Scania Certificate of Conformity, or Scania COC, is an official manufacturer's certificate confirming that your Scania vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and maximum speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Scania European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate vehicle registration.
Why do you need a Scania COC?
This document is required for the first-time registration of a new vehicle, or when importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof that the vehicle has been approved. Every Scania COC is issued by Scania's approval department.
New Scania vehicles usually come with a free certificate of conformity. For a used Scania vehicle, or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a replacement Scania COC.
A Scania Certificate of Conformity is required to:
- Import a Scania vehicle into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Export a Scania vehicle to another EU member state
- Register a Scania vehicle in another European country
- Correct your Scania registration certificate
