What is a Bentley Certificate of Conformity (Bentley COC)?
The Bentley Certificate of Conformity, or Bentley COC, is an official manufacturer's certificate confirming that your Bentley vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and top speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Bentley European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate vehicle registration.
Why do you need a Bentley COC?
This document is required when registering a new vehicle for the first time, or when importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof that the vehicle has been approved. Every Bentley COC is issued by Bentley's approval department.
New Bentley vehicles usually come with a certificate of conformity free of charge. For a used Bentley or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a replacement Bentley COC.
A Bentley Certificate of Conformity is required to:
- Import a Bentley into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Export a Bentley to another EU member state
- Register a Bentley in another European country
- Correct your Bentley registration certificate
