About Opel Commercial Vehicle Certificate of Conformity
What is an Opel Certificate of Conformity (Opel COC)?
The Opel Certificate of Conformity, or Opel COC, is an official manufacturer's certificate confirming that your Opel vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and top speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Opel European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate vehicle registration.
Why do you need an Opel COC?
This document is required when registering a new vehicle for the first time, or when importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof that the vehicle has been approved. Every Opel COC is issued by Opel's approval department.
New Opel vehicles usually come with a free Certificate of Conformity. For a used Opel or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a duplicate Opel COC.
An Opel Certificate of Conformity is required to:
-
- Import an Opel into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Export an Opel to another EU member state
- Register an Opel in another European country
- Correct your Opel registration certificate
