About Daihatsu Certificate of Conformity
What is a Daihatsu Certificate of Conformity (Daihatsu COC)?
The Daihatsu Certificate of Conformity or Daihatsu COC is an official manufacturer's certificate that attests to and proves that your Daihatsu vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and top speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Daihatsu European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate vehicle registration.
Why do you need a Daihatsu COC?
This document is mandatory for the first-time registration of a new vehicle or for importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof of vehicle approval. Each Daihatsu COC is issued by the Daihatsu approval department.
New Daihatsu vehicles normally come with a certificate of conformity free of charge. For a used Daihatsu or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a duplicate Daihatsu COC.
The Daihatsu Certificate of Conformity is mandatory for:
- Importing a Daihatsu into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Exporting a Daihatsu to another EU member state
- Registering a Daihatsu in another European country
- Correcting your Daihatsu registration certificate
