About Saab European Certificate of Conformity - Saab COC
What is a Saab Certificate of Conformity (Saab COC)?
A Saab Certificate of Conformity, or Saab COC, is an official manufacturer's certificate confirming that your Saab vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and maximum speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Saab European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate vehicle registration.
Why do you need a Saab COC?
This document is required when registering a new vehicle for the first time, or when importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof that the vehicle has been approved. Every Saab COC is issued by Saab's approval department.
New Saab vehicles usually come with a free certificate of conformity. For a used Saab or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a replacement Saab COC.
A Saab Certificate of Conformity is required to:
- Import a Saab into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Export a Saab to another EU member state
- Register a Saab in another European country
- Correct your Saab registration certificate
