About Porsche Certificate of Conformity
What is a Porsche Certificate of Conformity (Porsche COC)?
The Porsche Certificate of Conformity or Porsche COC is an official manufacturer's certificate that attests to and proves that your Porsche vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, color, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and maximum speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Porsche European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate the registration of a vehicle.
Why do you need a Porsche COC?
This document is mandatory for the first-time registration of a new vehicle, or for importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof of vehicle approval. Each Porsche COC is issued by the Porsche approval department.
New Porsche vehicles normally come with a certificate of conformity free of charge. For a used Porsche or if the COC has been lost, it is necessary to order a duplicate Porsche COC.
The Porsche Certificate of Conformity is mandatory for:
- Importing a Porsche into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Exporting a Porsche to another EU member state
- Registering a Porsche in another European country
- Correcting your Porsche registration certificate
