About Alfa Romeo European Certificate of Conformity - Alfa Romeo COC
What is an Alfa Romeo Certificate of Conformity (Alfa Romeo COC)?
The Alfa Romeo Certificate of Conformity or Alfa Romeo COC is an official manufacturer's certificate that attests to and proves that your Alfa Romeo vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and maximum speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Alfa Romeo European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate vehicle registration.
Why do you need the Alfa Romeo COC?
This document is mandatory for the first-time registration of a new vehicle, or for importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof of vehicle approval. Every Alfa Romeo COC is issued by the Alfa Romeo approval department.
New Alfa Romeo vehicles normally come with a free certificate of conformity. For a used Alfa Romeo or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a duplicate Alfa Romeo COC.
The Alfa Romeo Certificate of Conformity is mandatory for:
- Importing an Alfa Romeo into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Exporting an Alfa Romeo to another EU member state
- Registering an Alfa Romeo in another European country
- Correcting your Alfa Romeo registration certificate
