About Austin European Certificate of Conformity - COC Austin
What is an Austin Certificate of Conformity (Austin COC)?
The Austin Certificate of Conformity or Austin COC is an official manufacturer's certificate that certifies and proves that your Austin vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and top speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Austin European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate vehicle registration.
Why do you need an Austin COC?
This document is mandatory for the first-time registration of a new vehicle, or for importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof of vehicle approval. Each Austin COC is issued by the Austin approval department.
New Austin vehicles normally come with a free certificate of conformity. For a used Austin or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a replacement Austin COC.
An Austin Certificate of Conformity is mandatory for:
- Importing an Austin into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Exporting an Austin to another EU member state
- Registering an Austin in another European country
- Correcting your Austin registration certificate
