About Citroën van Certificate of Conformity
What is a Citroën Certificate of Conformity (Citroën COC)?
The Citroën Certificate of Conformity or Citroën COC is an official manufacturer's certificate that certifies and proves that your Citroën vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and maximum speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Citroën European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate the registration of a vehicle.
Why do you need a Citroën COC?
This document is mandatory for the first registration of a new vehicle or for importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof of vehicle approval. Every Citroën COC is issued by the Citroën approval department.
New Citroën vehicles normally come with a certificate of conformity free of charge. For a used Citroën or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a duplicate Citroën COC.
The Citroën Certificate of Conformity is mandatory for:
- Importing a Citroën into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Exporting a Citroën to another EU member state
- Registering a Citroën in another European country
- Correcting your Citroën registration certificate
