About Chevrolet European Certificate of Conformity
What is a Chevrolet Certificate of Conformity (Chevrolet COC)?
The Chevrolet Certificate of Conformity, or Chevrolet COC, is an official manufacturer's certificate confirming that your Chevrolet vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and top speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Chevrolet European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate vehicle registration.
Why do you need a Chevrolet COC?
This document is required for the first-time registration of a new vehicle, or when importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof that the vehicle has been approved. Each Chevrolet COC is issued by Chevrolet's approval department.
New Chevrolet vehicles usually come with a free Certificate of Conformity. For a used Chevrolet or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a replacement Chevrolet COC.
A Chevrolet Certificate of Conformity is required to:
- Import a Chevrolet into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Export a Chevrolet to another EU member state
- Register a Chevrolet in another European country
- Correct your Chevrolet registration certificate
