What is an Abarth Certificate of Conformity (Abarth COC)?
The Abarth Certificate of Conformity, or Abarth COC, is an official manufacturer's certificate confirming that your Abarth vehicle complies with European Union (EU) standards. This COC contains all the information required for registration, including:
- Chassis number (VIN)
- Vehicle category, weight, number of seats, colour, version
- CO2 emissions
- Engine power, transmission type and top speed
- Fuel consumption, engine capacity and noise level
The Abarth European Certificate of Conformity contains more than 52 technical specifications required by the European Union to facilitate vehicle registration.
Why do you need an Abarth COC?
This document is required for the first-time registration of a new vehicle, or when importing or exporting your vehicle to or from the European Union. Government agencies require motorists to provide this document as proof that the vehicle has been approved. Every Abarth COC is issued by the Abarth Type Approval Department.
New Abarth vehicles usually come with a free Certificate of Conformity. For a used Abarth or if the COC has been lost, you will need to order a duplicate Abarth COC.
An Abarth Certificate of Conformity is required to:
- Import an Abarth into an EU country, Switzerland, Norway or the United Kingdom
- Export an Abarth to another EU member state
- Register an Abarth in another European country
- Correct your Abarth registration certificate
